The perfect treat for dry skin.
These lotion bars are made of all natural ingredients (you can even use it on your lips) so you get nothing but pure moisturized bliss without worry of questionable chemicals and preservatives.
Use these for hands, feet, elbows, knees, anywhere you need deep moisturizing. These lotion bars make great gifts as well. I use these everyday! I keep one in the kitchen to soothe my hands after washing dishes, another one in the bathroom cabinet that I use on my lips after brushing my teeth and another next to my bed that I massage into my feet before popping on a pair of cotton socks for an overnight foot treatment.
What you’ll need:
- 1 Cup Jojoba Oil
- ½ Cup Shea Butter
- ½ Cup Cocoa Butter
- 1 Cup Beeswax
- 1 Tsp Vitamin E oil
To Make:
Fill a medium size pot with water and place a glass bowl inside to create a double boiler. Place over medium/high heat. Next, place Jojoba oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and beeswax into the glass bowl and let them sit for a few mins to soften. As things begin to soften use a silicone spatula to gently stir the mixture until everything is liquid and well combined. Stir in Vitamin E oil, which will act as a natural preservative. Remove the bowl from pot and carefully but quickly pour the mixture into your molds of choice. (I used a muffin tin). This recipe makes 12 muffin tin sized lotion bars. You could also pour these into empty deodorant tubes for easy storage and application.
Once you’ve filled your molds, place them in the refrigerator until solid (about 1-2 hours). Then simply invert, tap out the bars and you’re done!
Store them in a glass jar or wrap in decorative paper if you’ll be gifting. These will keep at room temp fine. In warmer climates or summer months, if you notice it getting soft just pop it back in the fridge.
Enjoy!
